Artist Statement

Photography is a gift to help see and think more intently about the environment we live in. It encourages us to stop and take that second look at our surroundings. It forces us away from digital screens, and it encourages adventure. Keeping photography fun is an exciting task. Endless resources of information and much to learn without any pressure or expectations. Whether it be at home or the occasional travel, a camera in hand has become as common as carrying identification. The desire to become better is stronger than ever, but at the end of each day, it’s still all for fun.

Biography

Photography is my daily creative exercise for both personal and commercial projects. When not exploring with a camera, I am a creative director and product design lead for a photography search engine tracking the usage of photographs online. Between 2010 and 2019, I worked with a publisher to design 20 instructional ebooks about photography, and in 2019, released my first printed coffee-table book titled Prince Edward Island Images of the Night Sky. I am also the co-author of the book titled A Photographer's Guide to PEI. I accept a limited number of assignments each year. I have created images for Parks Canada, Nature Conservancy of Canada, PEI Tourism, Welcome PEI, Air Show Atlantic, and various single-issue magazines and publications. I am a past tourism ambassador from the Ask An Islander program, and the photograph of Thunder Cove on HealthPEI's public provincial health card is a photograph I created.
