Artist Statement
As the world seems to be getting heavier, darker and more challenging, I'm striving to create music that hopefully lifts the spirit and provides comfort. It can range to ambient soundscapes, like a sonic blanket. Other times it can be more rhythmical, electronic and fun. Music as companionship.
Biography
A prolific composer and self-taught musician, Lee has over 100 releases of music ranging from electronic pop, chillhop, synthwave to ambient music for cats.
His music has appeared in hundreds of podcasts (NPR, CBC, BBC, 99% Invisible, Invisiblia, etc) and written custom scores for documentaries, and worked with NASA on original podcast music for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing in 2019. He had over 20,000 monthly streams on Spotify and over 8000 monthly listeners.
His music has been used worldwide in art installations, trailers, documentaries, meditations apps and he has worked with such clients as Speedo UK, University of British Columbia, PEI Government, Wal-Mart, and hundreds of independent productions.
He has recently remixed tracks by East Coast musicians The Burning Hell, Kristen Martell, KINLEY, Alanna Matty, Rachel Beck and more. In 2021, he collaborated with Canadian 90s electronic group Wild Strawberries. He has been nominated for multiple MusicPEI and East Coast Music Awards.
