About Our Organization
Incorporated in 1855, the City of Charlottetown is the capital of Prince Edward Island. Cognizant of its role as a historic city and its distinct architectural heritage, the city protects its inventory of designated historic properties through the Heritage Preservation Bylaw, celebrates its history through bimonthly pop up exhibits and maintains an historic collection of materials related to its past (available by appointment). City Hall (1888), a National Historic Site, is available for tours in the summer months.
