Description

Artist Statement I am a primarily self-taught creative jewellery designer. Inspiration for my work varies from unique architecture and unusual feats of engineering, to the solace and beauty of the red shores ofPrince Edward Island.

In the design and creation of my work I utilize age old metal smithing techniques and combine them with newly discovered processes. It is not uncommon to sketch a design for a new piece and then do lots of  problem solving and trial and error in order to execute it.

My work can include materials ranging from precious and semi-precious stones and metals to more unusual materials such as binocular lenses, marbles and tree thorns.

I enjoy exploring the physical properties of odd materials to create new and unusual visual effects. Consequently, my work has become increasingly smaller and more detailed as I acquire new skills and explore different materials and approaches.

I have throughly enjoyed putting my talents and imagination to work creating jewellery pieces for several themed gallery installations. I thrive on the challenge!

Creating my pieces is instrumental not only in allowing me to express myself as an artist but also as a therapeutic outlet.

I love doing what I do!

My work has been featured at The Confederation Centre Art Gallery, The Lefurgey Cultural Centre, The Guild, Walker's Studio Gallery, and the Eptek Arts and Cultural Centre all located on Prince Edward Island.

Additionally my work has been shown at The Crafts Council of British Columbia, The Ottawa Art Gallery and the Salon des Métiers D-art in Montreal. all located on

I was also featured in a documentary- PEIcraft.Docs.com
